President's Welcome Letter

Dear Ritchie Park Parents & Guardians,

On behalf of our PTA, I would like to welcome you and your family to our 2017-2018 school year. For those who do not know me, I am Andrea Creel, and my son, Quinn, is in fourth grade at Ritchie Park this year.

There are so many great things about being part of the PTA this year. The PTA is planning many great activities to help enrich your child’s experience at Ritchie Park, including our brand new Back-to-School Picnic on Friday, September 15th from 6:30-8 p.m.  A full list of our PTA events can be found on our website: www.ritchieparkpta.org.

The PTA intends to advocate to benefit not only your children at RPES, but all of the children in the Richard Montgomery cluster and throughout the County, with assistance from our Cluster Coordinator and RPES Parent, Rodney Peele, and our two MCCPTA Delegates, Shawn Eum and Ethan Baker.

We will also be undertaking fundraising efforts, led by Louis Leibowitz, to enrich the experience of our children, school, and entire Ritchie Park community. But perhaps, most importantly, simply joining the PTA is one of the easiest ways to support our teachers, our staff, and ultimately our children. This year, you can join the PTA online at http://www.ritchieparkpta.org/jointhepta

As PTA President, my primary goal this year is to make our PTA more inclusive, welcoming, and engaging. I would love to see the Ritchie Park proud panther pride be so great that it is evident not only at our school but in our community at large. I would also love to hear your suggestions, priorities, concerns, and especially solutions. You can contact me anytime at president@ritchieparkpta.org or by calling or texting me at 240.277.2683. There will also be time at every PTA meeting this year for your to voice your opinions, questions, and suggestions and hear ideas from other members as well. The entire PTA board would love to hear new ideas and suggestions to make our school and PTA the best it can be.

Our first PTA meeting of the year will be on Monday, September 18th at 7:30 p.m. in the All Purpose Room.  As always, there will be free babysitting and pizza for the kids, and a few treats for adults who attend the meeting, too!  I would love to see our entire Ritchie Park community at our very first PTA meeting this year, and of course, at our other monthly meetings, too.

Our PTA Board is incredibly excited to work with you, our teachers, and staff to make this year the best school year yet!

Sincerely,

Andrea Creel

President
